HACC Holds off Sussex County, 90-86
Harrisburg, Pa. – Harrisburg Area Community College protected its home floor Tuesday night, edging Sussex County Community College 90–86 in a tightly contested non-conference matchup at HACC.
The home team jumped out early, taking a 49–37 lead into halftime behind strong interior play and active defense. Sussex County responded with a much-improved second half, outscoring HACC 49–41 over the final 20 minutes, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
HACC was led by Eli Vega, who finished with a team-high 19 points and 7 assists, while John McNeil posted a double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks. William Bryd added 16 points and 7 rebounds, and Dustin Littles provided a spark off the bench with 14 points, knocking down four three-pointers.
Sussex County showed resilience down the stretch, cutting the margin to two possessions late, but HACC converted enough free throws to seal the win.
