HACC Hawks Men’s Basketball Falls to Skylanders
Harrisburg, PA – The HACC Hawks men's basketball team faced the Skylanders Sussex County Community College on Saturday Dec. 2, 2023. The HACC Hawks put up a strong team effort, but fell to the Trailblazers 84-73.
Both teams came out strong and battled for the lead throughout the first half. The HACC Hawks began to pull away with the lead setting the tone for the game. However, The Skylanders had a late push and narrowly captured the lead at the end of the first half 36-30. The Hawks started the second half working to keep pace with the Skylanders as they began to close the gap and gain momentum. The HACC Hawks were unable to hold the lead nearing the end of the second half as the Skylanders capitalized offensively. The second half free throws became crucial as the Hawks shot 43.5% at the charity stripe while the Trailblazers shot 60%. The Skylanders offense was just too strong and they held the lead surpassing the Hawks. Sussex County Community College captured the win over the Hawks; 84-73.
Leading the squad for the Hawks with 27 points and four assists was Jaiden Baltimore. Vincent Fonticoba followed, capturing 21 points with 7 rebounds. Lincoln Morris rallied 8 points on the board with four assists.
