Women's Volleyball is off to a fast start this season at 4-0. The team had their season opener at home on Tuesday vs Ocean County. The team came away with the decisive win, 25-12, 25-16, and 25-8. Hannah Van Pelt and Shelby Hildebrand lead the Hawks with 5 kills, Halie Johnson had 4 service aces, and Nicole Gianzanti had 10 digs.
The team then played Lackawanna College on Thursday evening. The team again won, 25-7, 25-10, and 25-15. The team was hitting well, with Lindsey Johnson recording 5 kills, Van Pelt and Halie Johnson had 6 kills, and Kara Starr had 7 kills. Gianzanti had 15 digs and 8 service aces for the Hawks.
The Hawks traveled to Bucks today for a tri-match with Bucks and Montgomery County. The team won the first match against Bucks, 25-5, 25-15, and 25-5. Setting for the Hawks were Lenisa Berrios and Shelby Hildebrand, with 13 and 12 assists respectively. Hildebrand also recorded 7 kills, Lindsey Johnson had 8 kills, and Van Pelt lead the team with 9 kills. Berrios and Kara Starr had 8 service aces in the match and Gianzanti had 13 digs for the Hawks.
The Hawks ended the day against Montgomery County. The Hawks won, 25-11, 25-20, and 25-5. Berrios lead the offense with 28 sets for the Hawks to have a total of 36 kills in the match. Starr had 14 of those kills and Lindsey Johnson had 9 kills. Gianzanti had 16 digs and Starr recorded 11 digs. Serving was a little struggle for the Hawks in this match with 10 service errors, but Halie Johnson had 5 service aces to lead the Hawks.
The next match for the team will be at home on Thursday at 6 pm vs Luzerne. Come out and support your HAWKS!
