Volleyball finishes the regular season with a win

HACC Women's Volleyball finished off regular season play with a win against Penn State York on Tuesday.  The ladies finished the regular season at 16-1, capturing the EPAC Championship and earing the #2 spot in the Region 19 playoffs.  

The Hawks had a strong performance against PSU-York.  Lead offensively by setter Shelby Hildebrand and outside hitter Madi Miller, the Hawks put away the Nittany Lions early. Defensively, Kara Starr and Hildebrand had 7 digs each, Freysha Rivera totaled 6 digs, several players had key blocks, and Halie Johnson had 4 aces.  

Since losing to Northampton, the Hawks have been determined to win out and make playoffs.  They faced several strong opponents and worked their way to the #2 seed in the Region and capturing the EPAC Championship as well.  

Tuesday night, the Hawks honored their sophomore players.  Coach Frye spoke about all 3 of them.  He thanked them for sticking with the program through the two years, always bringing a spirit of happiness and competitiveness to the team.  He said Freysha Rivera is the glue that holds the team together, Madi Miller is the joy and light of the team, and Alyssa Kimmel is the backbone.  

The Hawks will be home Saturday to begin the playoffs.  They will play against Montgomery County CC at 1 pm in the Evans Center.  Come out and support the HAWKS!!
