2016 Volleyball Recap

2016 Volleyball Team

HACC Women's volleyball had another solid team for 2016. The team finished the season 14-5 overall and 12-2 in conference play.  They went to the playoffs again, advancing to the final four for Region XIX, eventually losing to nationally ranked Northampton.  The team finished the season #1 in the nation in service aces and service aces per set. They also finished 9th in the nation with points per set and 12th in the nation in hitting percentage.  The team was lead by sophomores Kerri Miller and Paige Miller, whose solid play helped the team flourish.  Dazjanique Williams lead the team in kills and finished the season ranked 16th in the nation for hitting percentage.  Monica Smith lead the team and the nation in service aces and service aces per set.  She finished the season ranked 1st in the nation in both.  K. Miller finished the season following closing behind Smith, finishing 11th in service aces and 5th in service aces per set.  Coach Tom Frye is looking to continue to build on his first two seasons and is looking forward to the 2017 season.
