Women's Basketball Tops Northampton, 62-41

Women's Basketball topped Northampton today to bring themselves to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in conference.  Coach Verotsky said that this was the most complete game the team has played all season.  They had a balanced attack offensively with 4 players in double digits.  Olivia Bernardini hit 2 key three point shots to spark the Hawks and was perfect from the free throw line.  Olivia Macedo had 14 points and Sara Desso added 13 points and 5 assists to the offensive attack.  Caroline Schmidt had two baskets in the paint that pushed the Hawks offensively as well.

The defense by the ladies in the second half sealed the game.  Brittany Krick played shut down defense with 5 steals and 9 defensive rebounds and set the defensive tone for the Hawks.  Cameron Koppenhaver had 13 defensive rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals.  Krick was the spark for the team though, playing a complete game and recording a double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Coach Verotsky and Coach Lahr were happy with the team play.  The team will be looking to carry this into their next game on Tuesday when they play Montgomery County there at 5 pm.
