HACC Men's Golf travelled to New Jersey this week to compete in the Region XIX Championship. After the first day of play, Stephen Berger had the lowest score of 79 overall and the team total of 332 put them in first place. After the second day of play was finished, HACC had a commanding lead of 45 strokes over the second place team of County College of Morris. Kent Umberger came back from a slow start on day one to finish with a 73 and ended up at the top of the leaderboard for both days with a total of 158. Geoffrey Warke finished in third place with a combined score of 165, Stephen Berger finished ninth overall with a combined score of 170, and Justin Fantom finished just out of the medals with a combined score of 173. With this win, HACC Golf will now travel to the National Championship in New York, June 6th-9th. This is the first time is school history that the team has qualified for Nationals.
