Men's Basketball set for season opener tonight

The men's basketball team begins their season tonight against conference opponent Luzerne County.  The team has been working hard and is ready to begin play.  Coach Jon Branam says, "We have a great core of talent and a high basketball IQ, which should turn into wins.  The expectation is to make a statement in conference play and push for a conference championship.  We are going to be high octane and fun to watch.  Defense will be a strong suit for our team this year."  Returning sophomores and team captains Jordan Lynch-Rexroth and Onterio Edmonds are both looking forward to the season.  Lynch-Rexroth says the team has a lot of talent, has a good core, and the team cohesiveness is coming along.  Edmonds wants to build on last year and push further into the playoffs.  Edmonds also says the team has great chemistry.  Personal goals for both players are to be better student-athletes, be efficient team players, and be good captains.
The Hawks will play tonight at 8 pm, right after the women's game at 6 pm.  Come out and support the HAWKS!
