November Men's Basketball Games

The men's basketball team started the season strong in November, with a record of 5-3 against tough opponents in and out of conference.  Second year Head Coach Jon Branam and his team are looking to making the playoffs and going further this season.  The team has two returners, Douglas Smith and Brady DeShong.  

For the first game of the season, the team traveled to NJCAA Division I Harford Community College in Maryland.  The Hawks hung with Harford for most of the game before Harford pulled away in the final 5 minutes with the final score of 76-91.  The team was lead by Douglas Smith with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Freshman Kentrell Rucker had 15 points and 4 rebounds and Sean Smith Jr had 13 points.

The Hawks then started conference play against Bucks County CC.  They had a great all around team effort to come away with the win, 82-77.  Kentrell Rucker had 18 points, Brady DeShong added 15 points, Donte Yates and Robert Wright III had 11 points.  Wright lead the team in rebounds with 6 and Smith lead the team in assists with 6.  

For the first home game of the season, the Hawks faced conference opponent Community College of Philadelphia.  The game was fast paced and the Hawks pushed to the end but ultimately lost to CCP, 70-85.  Smith lead the team with 17 points and Wright had 13 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals.  Foul trouble and turnovers plagued the Hawks, but they looked to bounce back next game.

Lehigh Carbon CC came to visit the Hawks for the next game.  The Hawks had another team effort in the conference win, 73-65.  Onterio Edmonds and Rucker lead the with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 21 points, 5 rebounds, respectively.  Smith had 7 assists and Wright had 7 rebounds and 7 steals.  

The Hawks then traveled to conference opponent Luzerne County CC.  The Hawks won again, 107-86.  Freshman Rodney Parks had the team high score with 24 points.  Edmonds added 21 points and Smith had 5 assists.  

Conference opponent Delaware County CC was the next game for the Hawks.  This was a thrilling overtime win for the Hawks, 112-106!  Edmonds lead the team with 21 points, Smith, DeShong, and Rucker added 19 points each, Ainsley Vasquez saw significant minutes and added 11 points, and Wright lead the team in rebounds with 14 and also had 7 assists.  

The Hawks then took on Montgomery College-Rockville.  The game came down to the final minute, with the Hawks falling just short 92-95.  Smith lead the team with 23 points and 6 assists, Wright had 18 points and 6 assists, DeShong had 18 points and 5 assists, and Edmonds had 16 points. 

The end of November brought conference opponent Johnson College to Harrisburg.  The Hawks won, 109-57.  The team played very well and together.  Edmonds had 18 points and shot 100% from the field, only missing one free throw.  Garfield Antoine had 14 points, Yates had 13 points, and Smith lead the team in assists with 10 and also had 7 rebounds.  

The Hawks ended November 5-3 overall and 5-1 in conference.
